The SOGNO Services
State Estimation (SE)
The State Estimation service provides the necessary observability for secure, reliable, and efficient grid operation. The monitoring data, output of the SE algorithm, allows for the grid operator to assess the performance of their network. Possible anomalies can be detected in the grid operation, the network can be operated more efficiently and in a reliable way.

Power Control (PC)
The Power Control service optimises the management of the distribution grid like power flows (at both MV and LV level) for preventing possible contingencies, such as the violation of the voltage limits, and the overloading of grid components. This optimisation is obtained through the smart control of the active and reactive power injected (or consumed) by converter-based components connected to the grid.

Fault Location Isolation and Service Restoration (FLISR)
The Fault Location, Isolation and Service Restoration service is capable of detecting faults in the power grid, isolates the fault location and makes sure to restore the service by connecting the resulting isolated loads back to the power source. The deployment of an automatic FLISR service reduces the number and duration of outages. It brings significant advantages to DSOs by ensuring the reliability of the power supply and the continuity of the service as well as avoiding possible penalties.

Load and Generation Forecasting (LGF)
The Load and Generation Forecasting service predicts future electricity demands based on the historical information of customers’ power consumption and injection as well as future generated power in a photovoltaic system based on the weather information. It gives the DSO the possibility to ensure stability and reliability in power grid planning and operation.

Power Quality Evaluation (PQE)
The Power Quality Evaluation service enables DSOs to identify and monitor the quality of the power supply in their grid. In case anomalies are detected (e.g. voltage unbalance, voltage harmonics, inter-harmonics and flicker), suitable countermeasures can be triggered to prevent asset stress or failures. It will lead to reduced costs by reducing outages and their associated regulator fines and asset failures due to bad power quality.
