SOGNO Successfully started - Consortium met for kickoff in Aachen

18.01.2018 | Aachen, Germany
The 30 months EU-project SOGNO (Service Oriented Grid for the Network of the Future) was successfully launched with a kickoff meeting of the 13 European consortium partners. Hosted by coordinator Ericsson GmbH, Germany, at the headquarter in Aachen, the consortium came together for a two-day meeting to plan the upcoming work and to organise the project work packages.

SOGNO will develop turnkey services for distribution system operators implementing next generation data-driven monitoring and control systems, based on 5G based ICT. It is funded by the European Union within Horizon 2020, addressing the societal challenge of secure, clean and efficient energy. From 2018 to 2020, SOGNO will develop cost-effective automation services to enable smart distribution grids. It will combine hardware, software solutions and research activities on different areas, such as advanced deep learning, 5G communication, and cloud virtualisation, to build a new philosophy of electrical grid management. SOGNO solutions will be validated in five demonstration sites representing several application contexts.
