SOGNO at INNOGRID2020+ conference

16.06.2018 | Brussels, Belgium
With the slogan "Get Ready for the Twenties – A vision for Europe’s power grid and beyond”, the 2018 edition of the InnoGrid2020+ conference focussed on the disruptive innovations the energy market is facing. They are caused mainly by the increasing penetration of renewables and the decentralisation of the energy systems. More and more prosumers are joining the distribution networks making it necessary to find new and smart solutions to stabilise the bidirectional energy flow. Conference participants, especially DSOs as being mainly affected by these changes, showed high interest in the SOGNO solutions as an innovative and cost-effective way of monitoring and stabilising the grid. An increasing interest in self-healing mechanisms as the next step could also be noted, confirming the importance of SOGNO in addressing the current needs of DSOs.

The InnoGrid2020+ is a yearly high-level EU conference focused on innovation in electricity networks. The conference is organised by the European Network of Transmission Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) and the European Distribution System Operators for Smart Grids (EDSO). The event targets experts from EU institutions, regulatory bodies and the academic world. Each year, it reserves a space for current projects in the area of Smart Energy to present their activities.

The SOGNO project was represented by Mihai Paun (CRE), Christoph Gieseke and Alexander von Jagwitz (B.A.U.M. Consult GmbH).
